John Mellors started Da-Mell in Emu Plains in 1970. His daughter, Tania Pearce, joined in 1990 and is now a director. Since John's passing, Tania and the team have carried on the family business he built, continuing his legacy of helping local homes with air conditioning and heating. Daniel is dual-trade qualified in air conditioning and electrical work and runs the installation team.
You can come to us for a new system, a replacement, or help with the one you already have. We install, service and repair air conditioning and gas heating across Penrith and the Blue Mountains, through to Lithgow.

What we install and service
From a one-room split to a ducted, zoned double-storey.
We mainly install and service GENERAL Australia, Hitachi and Braemar systems across residential and commercial properties. Every system is sized to the home or business it's going in.
Ducted with zoning
Whole-home ducted with up to ten zones. Designed around your house plan, not the smallest unit we can sell.
Gas heating
Ducted gas, space heating, installs and repairs. Especially handy in the Upper Mountains where electric heat pumps struggle below five degrees.
Service and repair
Annual tune-ups, fault-finding, refrigerant top-ups. We service what we installed, and what we didn't.
Commercial and builders
Shops, daycares, offices and dental practices. Builders welcome. Contractor's Licence 148730C means structural work for the installation can be signed off in-house.

We carry out the agreed work, check the system and clean up. If we have installed a new system, we show you how to use it.

Yes. We service and repair air conditioning and gas heating, including systems we did not install. Tell us the brand if you know it and what has gone wrong. Ask about call-out and assessment costs when you book.
02 How much does a split system cost to install?
Most back-to-back splits land between $1,800 and $3,500 supplied and fitted, depending on the brand, the size and the cable run. We won't quote without seeing the room because the wall material, unit placement and run length matter more than people think.
03 Do you cover Penrith and the Upper Mountains?
Yes. We work across Penrith, Emu Plains and the Blue Mountains, including Katoomba, Blackheath, Leura, Wentworth Falls and Mount Victoria, through to Lithgow. Tell us your suburb when you enquire.
04 What brands do you install?
We mainly install GENERAL Australia (formerly Fujitsu General), Hitachi and Braemar. We recommend the system that best suits your home, budget and the way you use it.
05 Should I choose split-system or ducted air conditioning?
A split system is usually the practical choice for one room or a small number of separate spaces. Ducted air conditioning suits whole-home comfort and can add zoning so you only condition the rooms you're using. We measure the home before recommending either option.
06 How long does the install take?
A single split generally takes around half a day. Multi-head or ducted work can take longer, depending on access and the work involved. We discuss the expected timing for your installation when we quote.
07 Do you install air conditioning as well as gas central heating?
Yes. Da-Mell installs, services and repairs split-system and ducted air conditioning throughout Penrith and the Blue Mountains, as well as ducted gas central heating and space heating. Air conditioning is available for year-round comfort in every part of the service area.
